Really excited to share this one. Rise Bright got accepted into Remarkable Launcher Pre-Accelerator 2026. Is 12-week program for disability tech startups, and Remarkable has already helped over 170 startups across 16 countries. To be part of next cohort feels surreal honestly.
Why I started this
I built Rise Bright because I needed it. My daughter has ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I am autistic and ADHD myself. So I know what it looks like when learning tools don't work for your kid. You sit there watching them struggle with something that was never designed for how their brain works. Most education technology assumes every child learns same way. For 10-20% of Australian kids with learning differences, that is not just wrong, it creates more barriers.
I wanted to build something that meets kids where they are. No frustration, no forcing them into box that doesn't fit.
What I've been building
Last few months have been intense. Lot of late nights, lot of code. Here is what is live in production right now:
- Adaptive Learning Engine that personalises every session to each child. Uses Bayesian knowledge tracing and spaced repetition across 9 phases of development.
- Support for six neurodiversity conditions: autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia. Each one has evidence-based accommodations like visual timers, multi-sensory tools, reduced cognitive load.
- Local AI running on our own server. No API costs, data stays private, and is sustainable long term.
- AI Insights Engine that picks up learning patterns and gives parents and teachers recommendations they can actually act on.
- Google SSO so families can sign in easily. Microsoft and LinkedIn coming next.
- Tools for teachers because I want to make their lives easier. Too many teachers spend reluctant evenings getting ready for next day or next week or next term. Rise Bright aligns to Australian or State Curriculum, is adjustable to what school is teaching, and provides learning objectives, concept explanations, worked examples, guided and independent practice, common misconceptions and extension activities.
Behind scenes, platform runs over 2,200 automated tests each time I add or update something. For those that know me, specially closely, they know I do hands on work and always strive for perfection or close enough. Rome was not built in a day, good things take time. I want to make sure this is quality and reliable platform.
What comes next
Remarkable program starts 10 March and goes through to Showcase on 26 May. Over those 12 weeks I will be doing customer discovery, working on go-to-market, and getting Rise Bright ready for anyone willing to be part of pilot.
I am building platform I wished existed for my own family. Having Remarkable behind us means mentorship and community to help get it right.
If you are interested, you are welcome to sign up and you will be notified when pilot starts. During pilot we will provide pay what you can access, from $0 to whatever you feel is fair.
To give you idea, it costs us around $275 each month just to keep platform running, and that does not include everything else that goes into building it. So if you can contribute something, it helps us keep going.
